How it is calculated
- Count the most whole calendar months from the start date that fit before the end date, then the days left over.
- Months starting on the 29th–31st end on the last day of shorter months (31 January + 1 month = 28 or 29 February).
- Total days = the number of days between the two dates (Gregorian calendar).
